Love this Ultrabook, but buyer beware. There are major issues regarding wireless network and Bluetooth connectivity with Windows 8.1 on this machine. After several hours on the phone with Windows Tech Support, the issues were resolved. I had absolutely no luck with the Acer website to correct any issues. Make sure you check this out and make sure to get with Signature support before the warranty expires. If you Google Acer, you will see the issues related to their machines and also see that Acer is having major issues with the quality of what they put out.
With all that being said, This machine is ultra thin and super light. Battery life is very good and after fixing the connectivity issues, I am very happy. Windows 8.1 pretty much sucks, but they have fixed a few things to allow you to use the "desk top" mode and that is a big difference. Windows have seen the errors in their ways and Windows 10 will address the issues that everyone had with that OS. This machine does not come with a Ethernet connection, so be aware of that. You would have to get a USB adapter to address that concern. Headset would also need to be a single plug for this unit.

Update: Whatever you do.......DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER! I am in the process of sending this back to Acer for the second time. Bluetooth connectivity issues and key board issues are the main problems. If I had to do it all over again, I WOULD NEVER BUY AN ACER PRODUCT!
After about a month or two of researching laptops I decided to go with the s7. I knew going into this purchase that the power button is oddly placed and that the battery life isn't the best (especially when compared to the MBP and other models). I also knew that it didn't come with 802.11 ac WiFi and that the track-pad isn't centered. I feel the need to mention this because it drives me nuts when people get a product and are surprised when they find things like this out. I wasn't surprised.... because I did sufficient research.
With that being said I love this laptop! I have had it for a month now and it hasn't given me any problems so far. It's super fast and light weight which matters to me because I lug it to work everyday. Aesthetically it is beautiful. A friend just recently got the Air and it doesn't even compare. The glass on the outside cover puts it in a league of its own. I do leave finger print marks on the outside from time to time but it isn't a big deal to wipe it down once or twice a day.
Edit(2/6/15): I literally wrote this review yesterday. I wake up this morning turn on my laptop and notice I have dimples on my screen!?! The glass (screen) has no damage or scratches so I am unsure about what happened. I just got done speaking to Acer customer service and I am going to ship my laptop back tomorrow. The dimples aren't a BIG deal but considering I paid $1300 for this laptop it needs to be fixed. It's covered under warranty so I pay nothing. I will keep you posted once the laptop is returned in a week or two. Super annoyed that I have to wait 2 weeks but what can you do...
Edit(12/10/15): The laptop has, for the most part, worked okay for the past year. The reason I decided to update my review is because I noticed that there are screws missing on the bottom of the laptop. I remember reading a review where another customer had a similar problem but figured he/she got unlucky. So I contact Acer today and ask them to send replacements, which I was told they cannot do. I would have to send in my laptop and wait 2-3 weeks for its return... For 3 damn screws. I said "okay then can you at least tell me the type of screws so I can buy them myself?" They were unable to do that also... The representative was very friendly don't get me wrong but like their overall customer service sucks. This laptop is beautiful and works okay but for the money you can get better products. I was blinded by the aesthetics of this product and now I'm suffering from the poor build quality. Buy another laptop if you're spending 1-2k.
Laptop came with a spot on the screen, doesn't bother me too much though.Laptop is thin, very lightweight, keyboard is very comfortable to use. Onto the negatives....touchpad clicks are very inconsistent, speakers are almost non-existent, battery life is not good and the charger that comes with the laptop is bulky and keeps popping out of the port (had to buy a 3rd party charger that was not only slimmer but stays in the charging port).
The key to buying an ultrabook that seems to have so many problems is to get one from a reputable seller who understands technology. Personally I wouldn't even sell one that I wouldn't buy myself. Ironically a used one in good condition is almost less likely to have problems than a new one based on the reviews I see here. I have owned 4 Acer S7's and only one of them had an issue.The one that did was an older model and used by an unknown original owner. This laptop is really my favorite of all my Ultrabooks. That includes the Samsung NP940, NP900, NP930 and Asus T300, UX31, UX301, UX303, UX305 and Acer S7 391. All of these Ultrabooks are wonderful but non of them have the same STYLE as the S7. The S7 has a glossy Guirilla Glass top panel with a light up ACER signand a super thin matte white body which is awesome, people always stare! The reality is all of these Ultrabooks are similar and you get what you pay for but in this case the Acer is different enough that I love it.

Do not buy refurbished Acer S7.I have only had it six months, had it repaired once, and same thing happening again.It only works three seconds on batter before screen goes blank. I had to return this today, after several hours of use over a few weeks.Great specs and features and very light, but the resolution was too high (when I went one lower, it decreased the view too much).I had to lean forward to read.I probably just needed a 14" screen instead.It doesn't really compare quite to a Macbook in terms of body construction and stability.Acer put too many trial software and apps on there (one has since been acquired by Yahoo and is shutdown)--including their own Cloud suite, which is oddly a cloud of your own devices but not actually hosted anywhere; above all, I didn't want any of those, or other short-term trials.While Win 8 is powerful, the UI is super awkward and unnecessary.
Overall, a sweet computer with resolution that I couldn't work with, and too many lame apps including Windows 8.
I have had this laptop for about a week and am very happy with it.I am not a Windows 8 fan, so installed 7 on it instead and have had very few problems since the "downgrade" except for some USB driver issues (use the ones from Window's "Search Automatically" function and you'll be good) and the communication hot key doesn't work.Also, I had to turn off UEFI (using Legacy instead) due to the RAID configuration, using 2 x 128GB drives.
Pros: - Small, but good performance - So far, battery life has been pretty good, especially if you use a darker display brightness setting (I'll try to get actual figures soon on battery life under "normal" use) - Comes with a nice case (though it doesn't have a slot for the included VGA/Ethernet adapter, if I'm being critical)
Cons: - If you can call it a 'con,' the full 1920x1080 setting makes things very small for my taste.I had to drop it to 1600x900 to have the desktop icons set at a readable size.People with worse vision might want even lower... - They keyboard layout is a little goofy (Fn key required for home, end, function keys...) but that's the price you pay for a small laptop.
